Atlantic Umbrella Welcomes Government Announcement.
Following the recent period of consultation, the Chancellor Alistair Darling announced in his Pre Budget Report yesterday that the current rules regarding tax relief for travel expenses for temporary workers will remain unchanged.
Through its membership of the Association of Employment Management Companies, Atlantic Umbrella has been directly involved in responding to the HM Treasury consultation paper and is delighted that the Government has decided to leave unchanged the rules allowing contractors to claim legitimate tax relief against expenses.
As an entirely compliant and ethical umbrella company, Atlantic Umbrella also warmly welcomes the second element of Mr Darlings statement ascerting that HMRC will refocus its efforts to ensure that the current regime is properly applied.
Now, perhaps more than ever, it is vital that contractors can be confident of compliance and responsibility on the part of their Umbrella Company.
