Contractor news: HMRC holds business advice one-stop shop

The HMRC is to hold a tax and regulation for small business session that could appeal to contractors. HMRC is to hold a session in Narberth for those looking for business advice on tax and health and safety issues.

Contractors looking for tax advice have been invited along to HM Revenue and Customs' (HMRC's) Local Business Advice Open Day next month.

This will be held in Narberth on September 14th and will be free to firms from the local area, offering information on tax, age legislation and health and safety information.

Roger Lovell, business liaison team manager for HMRC, has highlighted the fact that these sessions are designed to make these issues as simple as possible.

"Our attitude has always been to assist businesses during good times and in bad and to engage with those in short-term difficulty so that we can help keep viable businesses afloat," he explained.

Mr Lovell added that the event would be held in a one-stop shop format and that it has been found useful by previous attendees.

Earlier this month, PCG told Contractor Eye that those contractors who manage to safely negotiate the pitfalls of IR35 are often significantly better off than when they were in a permanent IT role.ADNFCR-3595-ID-800045841-ADNFCR
