Zara Rabinowicz, a technology expert said that the fact that the UK tops the polls in terms of mobile technology use demonstrates the extent to which these devices are now involved in our lives.
"The rise of the application market ensures seamless delivery of content to the source. Maps and shopping are both good examples of how the user journey - both physically and online – can be enhanced. Low mobile tariffs aid this, as it allows a greater number of people to enjoy mobile web access," she went on to say.
Ms Rabinowicz added that this type of interconnectivity will also feed into other avenues, such as location-based gaming and tracking.
Her words came after Ofcom found that the desktop PC is still the most popular device used to access the internet at home in most countries, however, the laptop rules the roost in the UK.
