Millions of workers ''without a pension''

As many as a third of the country's workers do not have a pension As many as a third of the country''s workers do not have a pension, research reveals.

There are almost 15 million workers in the UK who do not have a company or private pension, new research from Prudential has shown.

More than one in three (35 per cent) admitted to not having a pension, meaning they will be relying on money from the state later in life.

Women were found to be less likely than men to put money aside, with 41 per cent saying they do not have a pension, compared to 29 per cent of their male counterparts.

Vince Smith-Hughes, head of business development at Prudential, said: "Although saving for retirement may not be a priority for young people, the more money which is stashed away from an early age, the more likely that significant rewards will be reaped later in life."

He highlighted that people need to seek pension advice in order to determine how their money can work best for them in later life.ADNFCR-3595-ID-800728375-ADNFCR
