Umbrella company users 'invited to HMRC advice session'
HMRC is running a course for umbrella company users which will provide business advice.
Umbrella company users in the Southport area have been invited to a special session by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) which is designed to help those forming their own businesses.
The Sefton session will be running on July 22nd and the Local Business Advice Open Day aims to provide information on what services are available for companies.
Information will be made available on the Business Payment Support Service, how to employ staff and the best ways to find new business opportunities.
Roger Lovell, business liaison team manager, claimed that people will inevitably find dealing with tax issues daunting but that this will provide practical assistance.
He said: "HMRC runs a number of schemes to make tax as hassle free as possible ... and our attitude has always been to assist businesses in short-term difficulty so that we can help keep viable businesses afloat."
Richard Jones, policy and technical director of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, recently claimed that contractors using umbrella companies should always receive the protection offered by health and safety measures.
